Expanding Business ManagementInternational currency
By Mellenie Runion, Marketing

On March 10, 2008 TeleBright will unveil several new technology enhancements, one of which will be international capabilities in ManageRight. This version will calculate international currency rates within the system. It will also support every global currency in the marketplace. The system will intake international invoices, validate payments, and apply the correct currency for payment. International businesses will no longer need an internal translation for their billing requirements.

Recent client surveys conveyed a strong desire to have this global capability. “Realizing the volume of off-shoring that is currently required for U.S. businesses to remain competitive, we decided to make this feature a priority ”, said Chet Thaker, CEO, TeleBright Software Corporation.

Enhancements include:

  • International currency listings with multiple viewing options.
  • Supports every global currency in the marketplace.

Available as a managed service or as licensed software. The solution is modular and specific options can be added or removed to best serve business requirements.

We look forward to sharing additional ManageRight technology enhancements with you on March 10, 2008.

Cell Phone Future
By Mellenie Runion, Marketing Buy drinks with your cell phone

The third generation or 3G of wireless devices contain a host of new applications. Here are just a few of the items right around the technology corner.

Near-Field Communications (NFC) - turns a cell phone into a credit or debit card. The new embedded chip will make payment with a touch sensitive interface or by bringing the phone within an inch or two of a NFC reader. Japan has utilized this technology for several years, paying for everything from sodas to purchases at the mall.

Internet - using cell phones for current internet activities have been disappointing but new phones will address a full range of HTML browsers. This could lead to expanded social networking capabilities, such as your friends on MySpace tracking your travels around town. This could be annoying.

GPS - chips are being inserted to assist 911 operators during emergencies, however they can also help users with their own navigation. This capability coupled with search engines will allow you to ask your phone for "Pizza" and it will lead you to the nearest location.

Search - the feature will become standard on all phones in the next 2 years. Google and Yahoo will be main providers but carriers will also provide white label services.

TV - from original to user-generated clips, consumers will have a wide range of TV possibilities on their phones. The Summer Olympics in Beijing this year are expected to spike the usage for mobile TV requirements.

Wi-Fi - dual-mode Wi-Fi cell phones will make it possible for users to have voice over internet protocol services like Skype to avoid roaming charges when traveling internationally. It will also allow users to access the Wi-Fi network in any hot spot around town. The Hot Spot @ Home service will allow a seamless switch between a Wi-Fi connection and a cellular connection, depending on which is available and most cost-effective at the particular moment.

Femtocell - a router that is essentially a cellular antenna will boost signals in your home or other areas not being reached by public cell towers. This technology has been in use in the UK for the past year.

Cameras - streaming video will become as standard as cameras are now in phones. QR code-reading software allow camera phones to read two dimensional bar codes and will eliminate the need to type in contacts or URLs. Japan uses this technology and QR codes are becoming very common on business cards.

Music - expect more options when downloading your favorite music. The music demand will only increase with more affordable high end music playing phones.
