A Great Reason to Text
By: Mellenie Runion

Before you make your next big purchase - you might consider sending a text message to Google. If you are about to drop a few hundred or even a few thousand on an impulse purchase, send Google a text message for your own good. You can simply send a text message to Google at 466453 stating “price” and the item you are considering. (ex:  price Sony TV or enter the UPC/ISBN code directly)  Within seconds, you will receive a list of stores and web sites offering the best price for that product! Very helpful for impulse buys and provides you the power to negotiate.

E-Recycling
By: Mellenie RunionRecycling to reduce landfill requirements

Recycling electronics is one way we can keep toxic materials such as lead, cadmium, and mercury out of our landfills and water supply. Reusing and recycling electronics will extend the life of these items and recover valuable resources. Recycling programs disassemble the materials such as glass, plastic, metal and toxic chemicals. Once separated they can be cleaned and reused.

It is estimated that only 10% of all electronics are currently being recycled in the U.S.. Manufacturers will soon be forced to absorb the complete lifecycle cost of their equipment, which will force them to be more innovative in reducing toxic materials.

Who should use recycle electronics? Households, small business, large business, schools, government, charities...and everyone else!

Where can I recycle?
Call 1-866-771-9785 or visit http://www.ecycling.com/ to find electronic product recycling services in your area.

What can I recycle for free?

  • televisions
  • computers

  • portable or laptop computers
Please note that computer peripherals such as keyboards, mice, and printers that are still working, are in high demand at your local schools. Please check with your local school or church before recycling.
